Over the mountains, over seven seas
Full Name: Rith Chhayprak
Aliases: As long as it's not insulting or degrading, anything is fine.
Country of Origin: On the sweet coast of Phuket, Thailand.
Gender: Male.
Physical Appearance: Though not the tallest of the Asians, Rith stands at five feet, six inches. Graced with a pleasant pearly white smile and big brown eyes, this southeastern man is rather plain in appearance. This merchant enjoys wearing the simplest of clothes, though he does make quite a lot! Rith tries to keep his commoner appearence to the easiest, tired of both dressing up and intimidating his customers.
Tanned skinned and a bit on the slim side, you wouldn't expect this man to have any muscle. Just be careful! Just because he's a plain merchant doesn't mean he can't put up a fight. Calloused hands definitely aren't from scrubbing down the elephant or carrying crates left and right. Rather, they're from the Muay Thai he's learned. This merchant will definitely put up a fight. Just wait until he flexes.
Job: He's a merchant known widely for his exotic items. Coming from Thailand, he brought medicine, plants, herbs, and refined jewels no one's seen before. His friendly smile and plain appeal also help in his trade, often seen as a good fellow. He trades goods with other merchants - only the best is traded, of course. Due to his appeal, he's often underestimated. However, it's become known now that he's not a force to be messed with - you'll get nothing more than a beating.
Personality and History:
Rith was born and raised with nothing more than hard work and warmth. He was often known for his rather dashing smile and carefree attitude, despite being born the first of seven siblings. Raised on a farm by the sea, he spent most of his time either fishing or farming with his parents. His schedule consisted of three things: helping his parents with crops, fish, or elephant, raising his younger siblings, and learning. His parents used all the money they had to keep Rith in school and made sure he had a proper education. And through him, they hoped his siblings would learn. And for the most part, they did! Definitely, Rith worked very hard up to graduation. It was surprising that he even had time for anything else. Though he'd always make a little extra time for the elephant his parents raised.
Finished with school, the cheerful southeastern Asian made his way to his next step: keeping his family safe. Rith, being the determined young man he was, took years of Muay Thai. That was also passed down to his siblings. Though he still hasn't perfected the martial art, Rith decided that enough was enough. He definitely couldn't support his family this way. Having learned all about trade and marketing through selling fish and crops, he packed up and kissed his family goodbye.
At the beginning, Rith was lost. He definitely wouldn't make money in Thailand anymore. He figured he definitely had to go north to make any money. Packing everything he could, he headed up and found that his products were considered a rarity. Since then, he goes the tiring trip back and forth from the Indian Ocean to the Atlantic when he can. He actually spends at least half the winter back home, rather sensitive to the cold. Rith gained popularity in springs and summers due to this. He's highly sought for because of this. It's especially hard to catch him, considering he's always running about! He's never at one place for two nights in a row.
Under basics, Rith can be summarized in five words: optimism, determination, relaxation, quick, and a little too coy. His smile can either relax the soul or scare it. He's gone through a lot of hard work as a child and he's definitely not going to let his success go. Rith is determined to give his family the best life they could have, even if it means going against others. After all, it's a hard life! He's not afraid to sell fakes if it means making an extra five to give his little sister a doll. Due to this, he really is always running off. He'd rather not be caught selling fakes!
But don't be too weary, he's a rather genuine man regardless. It's a harsh world. He'd rather not make it harder on himself than it needs to be. His parents do worry about his lifestyle and it'd be a lie if he said he didn't too. But he'd risk it for his family.

He wasn't even done setting up. Rith was holding up his tent, trying to make shade for himself as the sun bore and soaked into his raven tresses. If it wasn't for the fact that his tent was so plain, he'd probably sell things from inside his caravan. But alas, the salty air wouldn't be enough for the foreigner. It was early morning and he knew it would get worse by the afternoon. Just a few more to assure his tent was set up correctly. Just a little bit more and he could get everything outside.
Of course, there was always a chance he wasn't looking at his caravan of goods. He really did need an assistant, didn't he?
"You know I can see you," he muttered before turning around. A little girl peered over at him; an outstretched hand that reached for a precious little doll froze. Her lower lip trembled. Was the that noticeable? Rith suspected she was either the child of a thief or simply interested in the porcelain he brought from home. He smiled though as she stood there.
She was shaking.
He only chuckled at this, turning his back from his empty, lifeless tent. "Is this what you want, ana?" he asked, cheerfully as he picked up the doll, bending to her level. Rith didn't like thieves. He hated them, as any merchant would. Unfortunately though, he had the worst soft spot for kids. All the children in the world would have to thank his family for that.
Green eyes stared at the doll, admiring its soft face and delicate features. Rith believed he even saw a tint of pink on her freckled cheeks. A soft, warming smile arose on his lips, brightening his tanned face. "I take that as a yes then?" he asked, raising the doll's hands as she nodded almost too quickly. He was afraid she'd take off her own head!
He laughed, placing it in her arms. Placing a small finger on his own lips, he smiled. "You'll never steal again? Ana, if you're nice, you'll get nice things," Rith chastised, patting her shoulder. She only nodded again, putting out her pinky finger.
It was a promise. He felt terrible he couldn't keep his end of it, considering a third of his items were fakes, including the doll, and he ran off without saying sorry half the time. But alas, she was off with her doll and a promise to do good. He highly doubted she'd keep it, though her smile said otherwise.
"... I need to get ready, ana. The people will be out and about soon!" He quickly scrambled to get everything in after he watched the little one leave. Happy to start the day off with a smile, he was quick to open his shop and dazzle with mints and fake rubies. He definitely needed the money. He had to repaint his caravan again. Too many people recognized it at night. And that's the worst thing a merchant with fake jewels could have: attention.
